Congrats to GVIBA (Greater Valley Independent Business Alliance) for last niight's Main Street Forum. It was professionally planned and presented, and very informative - sorry more of our members were unable to attend. Membership in SWBBA automatically makes you a member of GVIBA, and provides access to GVIBA events such as last evening's forum, as well as other happenings within the Luzerne Merchants Assn., Kingston Area Merchants & Professional Assn., and the Back Mountain Business Assn. All of these alliances have had growing pains and, like us, they did not give up.
Main Street (as local businesses are referred to in this group) is the engine that drives each community. We are all therefore encouraged to buy local and support independent businesses in our community, and to also support local business groups and the community events they host. When times are tough and bills are due, we are not the recipients of government bail outs, but all of us working together to support our local business commuities will make it happen... Many of our members are featured in the new issue of Independent Magazine, and this is a very impressive issue. Please contact me if you are not receiving it, and I will deliver one to you.
Support SWBBA and plan on attending our meetings. Your voice is needed and appreciated...
